Reciting the names of Allaah:
Allaah has many names
depending upon His divine qualities, powers, etc. Generally these are
considered to be 99 names, although there are many derivates out of them, and
they are called as “Asma-ul-Husna”. Allaah’s names are written with a prefix as
“Al” in Arabic, which has a meaning as “The”. So, for example, Allaah is also
called as “Al-Wahhaab”, meaning ‘The Bestower’. So, while reciting this name,
instead of ‘Al’, “Yaa” should be used, which has a meaning as “Oh!”. So while
reciting this name, it should be recited as “Yaa Wahhaab”. Thus reciting
different names of Allaah for a specific number of times has a significant
effect on ones spiritual and worldly life, apart from the rewards of reciting
it.
